Did you say chocolate in Leysin ? And so much more besides ! Ezequiel and Sarah have created a whole range of confection based on sheep’s milk. In their Crettaz workshop right next door to the farm, organic milk is the magic ingredient which makes the Chocokiel chococaltes so deliciously tasty.
Chokokiel brings to their chocolates an undiluted passion for natural produce. No preservatives, no colourings, no synthetic ingredients here. Just the rich sheep’s milk which compliments the chocolate perfectly so as to create a unique praline.
Ezequiel is master of the laboratory. It’s he who creates the recipes and produces the pralines. A former student at the Madrid Hotel School, he qualified as a pastry chef and confectioner in Leysin before following numerous specialist courses in the art of chocolate in both Spain and Switzerland. Sarah adds her own special touches, from making the chocolate boxes to doing the delivery runs.
Chocolate lovers can only drool ! The « Edelweiss » box is an artistic and contemporary range with flavours that take you on a journey around the globe : white chocolate, vanilla from Tahiti and balsamic vinegar from Modena as well as camomile from the Därstetten region and honey whilst always using the local milk. Incredibly it was Ezequiel’s childhood dream to produce chocolate made in Switzerland…Watch this space !
