Espace Graffenried - Brunch Visit/Finishing

Mar 6, 2022
Aigle - Exposition

The Espace Graffenried offers a guided tour of the exhibitions located in the former Maison de Ville of Aigle followed by a brunch. This is the last day of the exhibition "Silhouettes bucoliques".

In the lower room, "Thomasz Fall. Le premier homme": Begun in 2015, The First Man is a series of pictures, drawings, archives, videos and interviews forming a semi-fictional documentary that is now complete. Between staged devices and spontaneous shots, Tomasz Fall's ambiguous images take a look at the human being and his relationship to the world. This series features a mysterious man - Mr B. - living as a hermit in the wilderness, embodying every individual in search of self. In these times of health, but also climatic, political and social crisis, the Spanish-Valaisan photographer questions, through an elusive character and a narrative series, the future of Western society and its challenges. This semi-fictional documentary is recounted in a book of the same name, composed of fictional and real documents that question, in a more general way, the human being and his future.

In the upper room, "ECAL Art and Design": Regularly ranked among the ten best art and design schools in the world, the ECAL/Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne is today a reference. This exhibition presents a selection of recent diploma projects from all departments. Authentic passports to professional integration for graduates and rich in a wide variety of skills and media (painting, photography, object design, interactive installation, publishing and film), the works presented at the Espace Graffenried are mainly based on contemporary themes such as new technologies, outdoor activities and sustainable development.
