Exhibition at Espace Graffenried

Oct 31, 2019 - Oct 31, 2020
Aigle - Exposition

The Graffenried Space offers 2 exhibition floors dedicated to art. This is the new setting that the town of Aigle manages in the Old Town House.

In the downstairs room, with "Waiting for the beach", Olivier Lovey takes us elsewhere, in another dimension. The Valaisan photographer plays with the optical features of the Espace Graffenried by presenting an installation made in situ and questions the limits between reality and illusion with three prints from his series "Miroirs larks".

On the floor, the exhibition "Ultimate Glaciers" presents different artistic glances on the glaciers between yesterday and today, through the romantic representations of an aiglon painter born in the 19th century, Emile Gissler (1874-1963), and the recent works, committed and even critical, of contemporary Swiss photographers and artists: George Steinmann (* 1950), Jacques Pugin (* 1954), Laurence Piaget-Dubuis (* 1971), Matthieu Gafsou (* 1981) and Thomas Flechtner (* 1961). Will the sublime glaciers of old become the ultimate glaciers of our planet?
