Exhibition at Espace Graffenried

Sep 18, 2020 - Mar 7, 2021
Aigle - Exposition

The Graffenried Space offers 2 exhibition floors dedicated to art. This is the new setting that the town of Aigle manages in the Old Town House.

In the lower room, "Transit, Christophe Constantin". Since the Renaissance, the theme of travel - and travel itself - has been part of European cultural and artistic history, culminating in the Romanticism movement of the 18th century, mainly in the visual arts and literature. With the emergence of tourism at the end of the 19th century, travel was facilitated and popularised. Today, it is part of our daily lives, accessible to all. In Transit, through 20 oil paintings, a video and an installation, Christophe Constantin questions the codes of travel.

In the upper room, "ECAL Art and Design": Regularly ranked among the ten best art and design schools in the world, the ECAL/Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne is today a reference. During their studies, students benefit from the supervision of high-level Swiss and international practitioners, an enviable number of exhibitions in prestigious venues, collaborations with renowned brands and institutions, as well as awards and press articles from all over the world. The ECAL currently offers a Propaedeutic Year, six Bachelor's degrees, five Master's degrees and an MAS in the following disciplines: Visual Arts, Film, Graphic Design, Media & Interaction Design, Photography, Industrial & Product Design, Type Design and Design for Luxury & Craftsmanship.

This exhibition features a selection of recent diploma projects from all departments. Authentic passports to professional integration for graduates and rich in a wide variety of skills and media (painting, photography, object design, interactive installation, publishing or film), the works presented at the Espace Graffenried are mainly based on contemporary themes such as new technologies, outdoor activities and sustainable development. Whether you are wearing a mask or not, this is an exhibition that does not lack air... time!
