The « Clos des Pierrettes » lies right in the heart of the Villeneuve district and its vines produce 9 grape varieties at mid height. 80% of the yield is sold as grapes and unfermented grape juice. The rest is kept back for the top quality Chasselas Grand Cru and Pinot Noir AOC.
The Pilet estate was established by the grandfather back in 1927, handed down to the father in 1955. Since 2001 the son Charles-Henri Pillet has been at the helm. Significant recent changes have seen the sale of the cellar in 2009 and today’s winemaking being handled by an outside company.
The main thrust of the third Pilet generation has been to spearhead the culture and cultivation on the estate borne from a sheer love of nature and of the land. A special feature of Clos des Pierrettes is hosting meals and wine tasting for visitors. Charles-Henri Pilet tries to spend as much time possible with friends and acquaintances establishing events with set menus.
