In 1997 Jean-François Morel, 3rd generation, took over the entire family estate that his father Jean-Jacques had developed to a large extent by purchasing vineyards in the Vaudois Chablais region.
The vineyards are located in Chardonne and St-Saphorin in Lavaux as well as in Yvorne and Ollon in the Vaudois Chablais. Six different grape varieties are planted in these terroirs : Chasselas, Pinot noir, Gamay, Gamaret, Diolinoir and Pinot gris. The Chasselas are bottled under three different appellations: Chardonne Le Chantey, Saint-Saphorin L'Elégant, Yvorne Le Chardon.
The range of wines produced from the red grape varieties boasts a Pinot noir rosé, a Pinot noir from Ollon and two blends : « Chardon Le Nectar » (Pinot, Gamay and Gamaret) as well as Saint-Saphorin Le Divin (Pinot, Gamay, Diolinoir). And we mustn’t forget the barrel-aged Gamaret, one of a speciality line which includes the Pinot gris.
