Rapaz Brothers is a family concern managing 13 hectares of vineyards in the district of Bex.
Winemakers in both heart and soul, the Rapaz brothers work the vineyards and produce all their wines in their own cellar, using Bex’s last existing winepress. Their trademark lies in producing authentic wines without ever cutting them.
On the gypsiferous Montet hillside, the wines of Bex are perfect representatives of their chalky soils where characteristic floral-mineral tones of the chasselas are ever prevelant and where the red grape varieties are at home in their favourite environment. The Rapaz brothers produce 20 wines, each strikingly different such as : Bélénos (Chasselas), Chasselas violet, Bélénos Gâtion, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Sauvignon blanc (in which gypsum plays a key role for this grape variety), Gewurztraminer, St-Clément (sweet wine), Nébuleuse (muscat sparkling wine), Œil-de-Perdrix, Rosé Cybèle (Gamay), Attys (Gamay), Pinot noir, Clos de Trepied (Gamaret-Gamay), Merlot, Pinot noir Gâtion, Le Plant Basile (unknown variety reintroduced), Le Botzéron (blend of 7 grape varieties), Casta-Néa (predominantly Merlot blend vinified in chestnut barrels). As well as the wine from the mines (Attys or Pinot noir aged in the Bex salt mines for at least 8 years).
