Bex village is located in the Chablais region and its municipality stretches from the banks of the Rhône to the peaks of Diablerets at 3’209m.
Vaud’s third largest municipality, Bex stands out for its diversity of landscapes and its range of colours each one as stunning as the next. The Bex vineyards, belonging to the Aigle district appellation, are spread out over 3 hillsides : « Le Montet », « Chiètres » and « Le Chêne ».
Its terroir is known to be chalky and gypsiferous. At the gateway to Valais and under the gentle influence of the foehn wind, the region’s microclimate allows the vineyard to blossom perfectly and to produce a characteristic vintage whose fame extends way beyond the municipal boundaries. The Bex Wine Society is one of the few associations in the canton of Vaud that is home to more red than white wines. It was created in 1905 and today boasts a 70-strong membership.
